Shehnaz Pancholi
Chief Executive Officer

Ms Pancholi has extensive experience in the teleradiology domain. She was instrumental in the success of American Teleradiology Network. At ATN, as Director/VP of sales Ms. Pancholi was instrumental in starting and training the sales team. Under her, the revenues grew 500% within two years. Ms. Shehnaz was also pivotal in starting and building the credentialing and licensing team which accelerated the start of client's services after the initial sales closed.

After the acquisition of ATN by Nighthawk Radiology Services, Ms Pancholi realized the need to create a teleradiology company that not only addressed the adult teleradiology domain but the enormously large and untapped field of pediatric teleradiology. Currently she oversees the only teleradiology company that caters to both the pediatric and adult markets.

At the helm of Cardiac America, she stands out as the only female CEO in the growing teleradiology domain. As an immigrant to the US, she is achieving the "American Dream." Her successful track record and her expertise will ensure Cardiac America a competitive edge in the evolving domain of telemedicine.

Ms. Pancholi graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Delhi, India. She has further completed her pre-medical program and is a few credits short of a Masters Degree Program as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner through Regis College, Weston, MA.

Paras Pancholi
Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Pancholi’s contributions since joining Cardiac Ameria include the design and successful implementation of CA’s global and national network infrastructure which encompasses numerous converging technologies in the field of teleradiology.

In this role, he leads the company's technology strategy and standards initiatives, contributes to general business planning regarding technology and systems required to maintain company operations and competitiveness. Recognizes new developments in information systems technology, and anticipates organizational modifications. Establishes long-term needs for information systems, and plans strategy for developing systems and acquiring hardware to meet application needs.

In 2000, Mr. Pancholi co-founded PanteQ Corporation, a software development company with offices in Virginia, USA and New Delhi, India. He leveraged his background in technology and marketing to help the company achieve its strategic goals and growth potential. In 2003, Mr. Pancholi joined American Teleradiology as a CTO which grew to be one of the larger Teleradiology corporations and merged with Nighthawk Radiology Services in September of 2005, with the combined company going public in February 2006 with market cap of 600-700 million (NASDAQ: NHWK).

Mr. Pancholi graduated with a bachelor’s degree in information and multimedia design from Lesley College in Boston.

Parvez A. Kazmi, M.D
Director of Operations

Dr. Parvez A. Kazmi joined TA as the Director of Operations in October of 2006. One of his first tasks involved setting up, staffing and structuring TA’s Call Center. As a result of his efforts, TA now has a fully functional Call Center to cater to its clients. Other functions reporting to him include sales, call center staff and credentialing and licensing.

Dr Kazmi graduated from Karachi University in 1999. He is credited with founding the first of 6 blood bank units in rural Gadap, an under served area north of Karachi. He was also instrumental in collaborating with the WHO and spearheading the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in the same area. After completing his post-graduate education, he joined the Clinical Research fellowship program at Children’s Hospital in Boston. During the past 3 years, he has successfully led and concluded multiple Phase III clinical trials in the quest for a steroid free protocol in pediatric renal transplant recipients. His work is currently awaiting publication. During his fellowship, Dr. Kazmi was also in charge of running the Pediatric Ambulatory Care Clinic, offering him great clinical management insight and thus rendering him a unique perspective on the management of daily operations.

Irfan S. Shafique, M.D
Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Shafique is an entrepreneur, non-invasive radiologist, nuclear physician and nuclear cardiologist with internal medicine background. He has extensive experience in cardiac imaging. Dr. Shafique is board certified in radiology, nuclear medicine and nuclear cardiology.

Dr. Shafique is one of the pioneers of the cardiac CT program at Johns Hopkins medical institution at Bayview Medical Center. He directs annual cardiac CT symposium and also helps direct the cardiac CT fellowship teaching/training program/practicum, which runs one week every month throughout the year.

Dr. Shafique has extensive experience in reading cardiac CT and teaching cardiac CT for the last few years since the beginning of cardiac CT imaging. He is a national and international speaker on cardiac CT and has been teaching/training national and international fellows on the board.

Dr. Shafique has authored and presented many publications at major national and international meetings and also has authored a book chapter. He was the first radiologist presenting to the American Heart Association regarding the significance of non-cardiac findings in cardiac CTA. He has extensive experience in collaborating with cardiologist and was the first one to form a collaborative program at John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

Dr. Shafique has post graduate training and fellowship training at Johns Hopkins Medical Institution in Baltimore, Maryland and HUH Washington, DC, respectively in the late 80’s and 90’s. He has been involved in PET imaging for the last two decades and was a consultant at NIH.

Presently, Dr. Shafique is the President of Dedicated Imaging Services and consulting (DISC) and CEO and Medical Director of Dedicated Imaging, LLC. He is also Chief Medical Officer of Cardiac America. Cardiac America is a new venture providing cardiac CT interpretation 24/7 by highly experienced skilled physicians in this subspeciality field. Dr. Shafique is the Director of annual CME cardiac CT symposium and also co-director of cardiac CT fellowship teaching/training program/practicum at Johns Hopkins Medical Institution at BMC. He has also directed many imaging departments in Maryland.

Rashid M. Taher, M.D
Strategic Advisor/ Board of Director

Dr Rashid M Taher is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in Vitreoretinal surgery. Dr. Taher completed a two year vitreo-retinal fellowship at Boston Unviersity Medical Center. He finished his ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida and his medical school training at the George Washing University Medical School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Taher has authored several chapters in the text “Retinal Disorders and Acute Visual Loss.” He has been involved in the research of surgical treatment of retinal vascular occlusions and diode laser use in macular degeneration. He also has an interest in ocular trauma and the management of intraocular foreign bodies.

Dr Taher has served as a consultant to several health care related internet corporations and was a partner in three health care related internet start ups. He is on the Medical Executive Committees for multiple Ambulatory Surgical Centers. He also does consulting work for Paramount International, a medical supplies and distribution company based in Amman, Jordan.

Samuel Wann, M.D
Board of Advisors

Dr. Samuel Wann has joined Cardiac America   as a member of the Advisory Board. Dr. Samuel Wann is a non-invasive Cardiologist with particular expertise in cardiac diagnostic imaging, he acts as the Medical Director for the Diagnostic Laboratories of Wisconsin Heart and Vascular Clinics. In 1994, Dr. Wann led the first clinical cardiovascular MR unit in Milwaukee. Dr. Wann has a number of specialty certifications, including Diplomate, American Board of Internal Medicine (1974), Diplomate, Subspecialty of Cardiovascular Disease, ABIM (1979), Certification, special competency in echocardiography, ASExam (1995) and Certification in nuclear cardiology, CNNC (1995). He is a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta, Premedical Honorary Society and the recipient of the Best Teaching Service Award by the Medical College of Wisconsin (1979-89).

Ricardo Cury, M.D
Board of Advisors

Dr. Ricardo Cury is a valuable addition to Cardiac America, not only as an Advisor but also as a member of the Quality Control Board Dr. Ricardo Cury is a non-invasive cardiovascular radiologist (CT and MRI) and is the Director of Teleradiology and Education of the Cardiovascular CT Core Lab and Director of Clinical Cardiac MRI of the Department of Radiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Cury is author of more than 40 original scientific publications in major radiology and cardiology journals. He is an associate editor of the Journal of Cardiovascular CT and also reviewer of several journals such as Circulation, JACC, AJR and others.  Dr. Cury has interpreted more than 3,000 Cardiac CT angiograms and more than 2,000 Cardiac MRI scans. He has been director or instructor in multiple dedicated hands-on workshops in coronary CTA, including: SCCT Academy, MGH and University of Erlangen workshops. He has been invited to speak about cardiac CT and MRI nationally, throughout the USA, and internationally in Europe, Central and South America. He is a member of AHA, RSNA, SCMR, ACR and a founding member of the Society of Cardiovascular CT.

Dr. Cury received his MD from Santos School of Medical Sciences in Brazil and finished his residency in diagnostic radiology at MedImagem, Beneficencia Portuguesa Hospital.  He completed a clinical/research fellowship in cardiac MRI and CT at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where he has been on the faculty since 2004.

Scott D. Jerome, D.O
Board of Advisors

Dr. Jerome is a valuable addition to Cardiac America as a member of the QA Committee and Advisory Board.   Dr. Jerome will also be on regular calls for Cardiac CT reporting. Dr. Jerome received his medical degree with honors from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Jerome completed his residency at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD, and his cardiology fellowship at Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan. Today Dr, Jerome is Director of Cardiac Imaging at Midatlantic Cardiovascular Associates, P.A. and is also Director of the Anticoagulation Clinic at Carroll Hospital Center. Currently Dr. Jerome holds several teaching positions, including Clinical Instructor at the University of Maryland. Dr. Jerome is a member and Fellow of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, A founding member of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is the Associate Regional Director of the Society of Cardiovascular Computer Tomography and a contributor to the C-T board examination.

Dr. Jerome has co-authored numerous publications and abstracts, and is one of the contributors to the recently published Appropriateness Criteria For SPECT Imaging. He has Level III credentials in cardiac C-T and is on the Advocacy committees of the ACC, SCCT and ASNC. Dr. Jerome is on the Board of directors of Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (ICANL).

Carey Kriz
Board of Advisors

Mr. Kriz has built his career through a assignments in the computer and healthcare industries. Mr. Kriz is currently the CEO and founding director of the Prospective Health corporation (www.prospectivehealth.com) in New Albany, Ohio and the Executive Director of the American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine (www.aaucm.org)  in Orlando, Florida.  PHC is a buyout company focused on the emerging markets in urgent and primary care with an initial focus on the Midwest and Southeast markets. 
His professional activities range from engineering to corporate development and have included executive positions at IBM and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. During his tenure at Johns Hopkins, Mr. Kriz led the creation of a number of healthcare corporations and research programs. His assignments in Hopkins included a faculty appointment in radiology, membership on the executive committee of Johns Hopkins Medicine, and Special Assistant to the Dean/CEO.
Prior to joining Johns Hopkins (1991), Mr. Kriz was the president/CEO of the Camdat Corporation of Pittsburgh, PA. Camdat was one of the earliest companies in the emerging industry of decision support systems for medicine and based on research programs at the University of Pittsburgh and Stanford University. Mr. Kriz began his professional career with IBM as a programmer and moved through its management ranks. Mr. Kriz directed a variety of development, planning and marketing efforts for IBM and was involved in areas ranging from artificial intelligence (speech recognition, expert systems) to basic architectures of computer operating systems.

Mr. Kriz’s development accomplishments include the creation of Amcare Labs International, Amcare Labs Malaysia, Johns Hopkins Singapore, Johns Hopkins Singapore Clinical Services (and Oncology Center), Johns Hopkins Imaging, American Radiology Services, Johns Hopkins International, the Center for Information-enhanced Medicine, and the MedBiquitous consortium.  While studying Computer Science at the University of Maryland, Mr. Kriz received a degree in Economics from the University of Rochester (B.A. 1979).
